[Week 12] E-book, continuation of module 2, intro to video editing

Assalamualaikum WBT and hi everyone!! 

Time flies very fast. I feel like just entered this semester but it’s already the 12th week. Yes, we are in the 12th week of resources class too.Last week was about editing pictures using various tools and software. Not to be forgotten that there are tasks to be completed after the module. This week, Pn Foziah is going to check the task 2 which is the ebook. Before doing so, Pn Foziah showed us some of the ebooks that have been done by her students. The ebooks are very interesting, colourful and of course it is attractive. Pn Foziah also reminded us on some important thing about the ebooks.

She reminded us to chose good quality pictures, with colourful and attractive graphics. Next, to insert the navigation keys, sound. Our e-book needs to also have a theme, characterization and plot. Because of that, my partnerHazwan Benjamin Bahak and I decided to do an e-book about Goldilocks and the 3 bears. Hopefully the e-book can satisfy Pn. Foziah.

After that, Pn Foziah went around checking all the ebooks and gave her comments and opinion. The comments given by her is very useful to improve the ebooks. Later on, Pn Foziah gave 2 sets of module which is the continuation of module 2. These two sets are continuation of module 2 using the adobe photoshop CS3 software. It is quite lot, but I am sure that we will learn something new from those tutorials.

Later, Pn Foziah asked the class to move forward to the front of the class because she wanted to show us some examples on video editing. She showed the edited video of Chun and Ella. The videos are really wonderful and it gives a basic idea to me on how video editing works and its product. Although we do not get the module 4 yet, Pn Foziah asked us to choose a theme for our video editing task. My partner and I chosed ‘laughter the best medicine’ as our theme and we really hope to create a meaningful video soon.

[Week 11] behind a picture~

Now I am entering 11th week with full of confident and feeling proud as I have learned many new things from this class which other students who're not taking this course are not able to do. Today lesson is still on photo editing as Pn.Foziah was checking the task that each of us has done.

We were asked to edit a photo and the edited photo must be able to carry a message to the viewer. I edited a photo using Picnic.

Unfortunately, when I showed my picture to Pn. Foziah, she commented on the photo that I edited. She said that my picture doesn't have a story behind it. This is because we could not just edit a picture for the sake of editing it. It must be logical so that the viewer will not feel doubt looking at the edited picture. Hence I have chosen a picture of a fisherman came home from a long day work. I edited to put the focus on the fisherman and insert caption and frame with my initial on bottom right.

It was successful and I uploaded it in the website that Pn. Foziah had allocated for us. I hope that my effort that I had put in is worth so that Pn.Foziah will be satisfied with my work. That is all for this week and I see you in next entry.

[Week 10] Raised Me Up, Give it Up to Me, Cintailah aku Sepenuh Hati, Dua Insan Bercinta~

due to the completion of module 3, this week we were assigned on 3 task.

 First is to make a ringtone using a song

I used a song by Westlife-You Raised me up. even though the song is quite melancholy, I love the sentimental elements behind the lyrics which is an appreciation for my parents after all that has been done by them to raise me up.. Their sacrifices will always be remembered and strengthen everytime I hear this song as my ringtone.

But the song was rejected. So instead I use Sean Paul ft Keisya Cole- give it up to me. The song is more catchy to be used as ringtone.

For task 2, we have to mashed up 2 songs. For this, I choose two male singers from Indonesia which have great and soothing voice. Their songs are also a hit and my personal favourite.

Finally, for task 3, we need to enhance a song, Dua Insan Bercinta, live version by M.Nasir and Siti Nurhaliza. Youtube do not allow us to embed this song. [Week 9] it's all about photo editing

We were given a new module. module 2. It is about PHOTO EDITING!! yeah~ the most bulky module so far, means the most time and effort need to be spend here to make sure the module will be able to be completed in time. chiayyokk! 

MODULE 2 PHOTO EDITING

 Adobe Photoshop CS3
This is the hardest software among all the editing softwares included in the module. It is quite tricky to edit the picture because everything is in detail. No wonder all the professional photographers are using adobe photoshop up until CS5 to edit their photos. with skills and practice, a picture edited using Adobe Photoshop definitely look bombastic and really enhance and boost up the quality of a picture.

ACDsee

ACDsee can be used to edit features of a picture like, correcting the colour cast, reducing noise of a picture, crop a picture and resize it.  What I can say about this software is it is easy to use even though the features provided are quite simple and limited.

iPhoto
Actually I failed

 to download iPhoto even though I had tried for so many times. Apparently, the software is only meant for Mac program and I am using Windows. As replacement, I decided to use an online software called Picnic. Since it is an online software, you do not have to download anything, I like it because my laptop is getting slower after all the downloads.. 

 Microsoft Paint
Microsoft Paint is the most simple software that already installed in your laptop or CPU. Paint is a great help when I need to printscreen anything and only choose a part of the printscreen.

Photobucket
Same as Picnic, photobucket allows us to edit pictures online, apart from serving as pictures storage. There are many features provided, you can add frame, add text, edit the exposure and etc.

Photoscape
Photoscape can also be used to Add text, Basic Photo Editing, Insert Frame, Insert Frame (Barbie), Noise Reduction and to resize image

 Triscape FXfoto

Before doing the module, this is the first time I've ever heard of Triscape FXphoto. It is quite fun to explore this new software and the features are variety and interesting.

[Week 8] Module 3 > audio editing~

Assalamualaikum WBT, now we're in week 8. after submitting module 1, now it is time for another module. Since Pn Foziah is unable to prepare module 2 for us yet, so she gave us module 3 which involves audio editing. This module is all about AUDIO EDITING  and we need to use many audio software that are available in the net such as AUDACITY and SONY PRO VEGAS for example.

I rarely used any of these software before in editing audio. So, those can be considered as new software to me. In audio editing, we need to cut and paste audio, changing the pitch, increasing and decreasing music tempo, amplifying and many other things.

Apart from that, every module has it own tasks to be completes-individual, pair and group tasks. Basically the tasks were collecting TEACHING AIDS where we need to compile the collection of technology and non-technology of teaching aids. Then, we need to prepare LESSON PLANS.

MODULE 3 AUDIO EDITING

In general, this module divided into three sections, namely:

1. The objectives of this module

2. The actual tutorials

3. The task given to evaluate what had been learned.

At the end of this module, students should be able to:

1) Change speed, pitch cut and join audio for making better quality audio files.

2) Decrease and increase music tempo.

3) Remove noise from audio, upgrading the quality of stupid audio files.

4) Converting and encoding audio file

5) Changing the type of audio files from wav to mp3

6) Create minus one.

7) Combine two songs

8) Edit music and sound

9) Saving and uploading

really hope I'll be able to manage my time and finish the module and the tasks in time.. 

[Week 7] house keeping~ completing the first module.

It is the 7th week already. time flies so fast and we only started with module 1. It is already half the semester. It must be very busy by the end of the semester which only another 8 weeks. wheww~  

We need to work on this module. Although it is quite unfamiliar to each of us, this basic technology skills are crucial.

As teachers, this is the challenge!

we have quip ourselves with all the technology skills and knowledge. so that, later on in future, we can apply it in our teaching and learning process.

maybe i should stop whining and moaning and start focusing on the module? yeahh~ i guess i better do that.. see you guys next week ya..~

[Week 6] The grand arrival of the module.

Assalamualaikum WBT, hi all.. how're you? so, now we're in week 6.. 

Finally, the so called 'module' which has been mentioned by Pn Foziah has arrivedddddd~ only now I have a better picture of what I am suppose to do with the module. The first module is about Computer and Internet Skills. 

                                               

so basically i'll be indulging my self into the world of ICT. and surfing the internet to the max!!

it's interesting because it's my first time doing the

[step by step on how to get something/information from the internet]

i'll show you some of the step that i did...

which involved...tada!!!

1- The used of internet obviously it's internet skills honey..

2- Searching for things online like MP3, pictures, animation and etc..

3- The best part of it is"PRINT SCREEN"hahah...I get kinda excited.

[dont laugh at me it's been like forever i did do this kind of things, i remember the last time i

did it was like when i was form 5 haha...]

4- Here are the print screen that im all EXCITED ABOUT"

5- Actually, all this print screen and everything are part of my assignments in "internet modules"..

6- I will be doing a lot of "this" for this course...[i hope i will never get tired of doing this hehe]

7- Just bear in mind that this is only the first part of it...there would be 4 other elements to go!!!
